The Founder
Lagom Næring began as something else. Dr. Dhanalakshmi — dentist, yoga therapist, and lifelong student of food as medicine — started with a vision of Nordic × Mediterranean gourmet bowls: clean, beautiful food rooted in preventive medicine and whole ingredients.
Her path to food wasn't accidental. Years in Oslo studying international community health, a PhD focused on physical and mental wellbeing, and a clinical background in dentistry all converge on the same insight: that chronic disease is largely preventable, and that diet sits at the centre of prevention.
The bowls led naturally to a question: what's the ideal accompaniment? Something nutritious enough to stand alone, versatile enough to work with anything, and convenient enough to fit real Indian mornings — where time is scarce and compromise is the default.
The answer was Knäckebröd — the Nordic seed cracker that Scandinavians have eaten for centuries. Three flavours — Classico, Rosemary, Red Chilli — each slow-baked from four seeds. High shelf life. Genuinely nourishing. A real breakfast platform for Bangalore.
The crackers found their audience before the brand even had a name. From canapes at IKEA FIKA Midsummer to events with the Swedish Chamber of Commerce India, to regular popups at Ericsson Bangalore and collaborations with Red Baron — real Swedes, food professionals, and health-conscious professionals tasted them and came back for more. The validation wasn't from marketing. It was from the crunch.
The bowls still inform everything: the Nordic–Mediterranean philosophy, the obsession with whole ingredients, and the belief that good food and good health are not separate pursuits.
What Drives Us
Three principles that shape every decision — what we put in the pack and what we leave out.
Nothing refined, nothing extracted. Four whole seeds, whole wheat flour, water, oil, salt. That's it. Every ingredient earns its place by being food.
"Lagom" is a Swedish word meaning just the right amount — not too little, not too much. The crackers are dense with nutrition, not engineered for extremes. Good food, eaten well.
Dr. Dhanalakshmi's clinical and research background shapes the food: fibre for gut health, omega-3s for the heart, zinc for immunity. Not added supplements — the seeds themselves.
Where it all began
The crackers are the first chapter. But the vision was always bowls — clean, beautiful, deeply nourishing food rooted in the same Nordic × Mediterranean philosophy. These are the bowls that started it all. They're coming back.
